"Her fluency with pigment and skilful handling of form and tone evoke a convincing, yet poetic description of 'being in the landscape." The fine tonal modulation and surface quality in Susan Baird's recent works attest to her skill in wresting compelling imagery from a fundamental motif." - Gavin Wilson Dec 2012, excerpt from "Being in the Landscape" essay.
