Robert emigrated to Australia from Mauritius as a young boy.He has exhibited locally and nationally for over a decade and has been a regular finalist in prestigious prizes including the Wynne, Archibald and Mosman Prizes.
Using dense impasto surfaces and luscious application of paint, Malherbe generates a sense of immediacy in his workshop, moving paint freely around the canvas to capture light, shade and form.
